How to Get More Views and Inquiries on Your Listing
A comprehensive checklist for optimizing your listing to attract more renters.
Getting More Views and Inquiries
If your listing is live but you're not getting the engagement you expected, there are several things you can do to improve it. Think of this as a comprehensive optimization checklist.
1. Photos (The Most Important Thing)
This is worth repeating: photos are by far the most important part of your listing. A listing with professional, well-lit photos will always outperform one with dark, blurry, or too few images. Upload as many high-quality photos as possible showing every angle of the space, common areas, parking, and the exterior.
2. Description (Use Writing Prompts)
A generic, two-sentence description won't cut it. Be specific about what makes your space great. If you're not sure what to write, use the Writing Prompts feature in the listing editor. It guides you through a few questions and helps you build a solid description.
3. Amenities (Fill Them All Out)
Renters filter search results by amenities. If you have WiFi but didn't check the box, you're invisible to every renter who filters for WiFi. Go through the entire checklist and check everything that applies.
4. Pricing (Be Transparent)
Don't leave pricing vague or say "contact for rates." Renters skip listings without clear pricing. Put your actual rates in the pricing fields.
5. Response Time
When you get an inquiry, respond fast. Beauty professionals often message multiple owners at once. The first person to reply has a major advantage.
6. Promo Banners
If you have a move-in special, use the promo banner feature. It makes your listing card stand out in search results.
7. Video Tour
Listings with video tours get more engagement. Even a quick phone walkthrough adds a lot of value.
8. Featured vs. Basic Package
If you're on a Basic package, consider upgrading to Featured for priority placement in search results. This is especially helpful in competitive markets.
