How to Write a Great Listing Description

Tips for writing descriptions that attract quality renters.

Writing a Description That Works

A great description goes beyond listing features. It tells the story of your space and helps potential renters picture themselves there.

What to include

  • What type of space it is (suite, booth, chair, room)
  • What makes it special — unique features, recent renovations, premium location
  • What's included — utilities, WiFi, parking, equipment
  • The neighborhood — nearby amenities, foot traffic, accessibility
  • Lease flexibility — minimum terms, move-in specials, trial periods

Writing tips

  • Keep it clear and conversational — avoid jargon
  • Lead with your strongest selling point
  • Be specific about what's included vs. extra
  • Mention the types of professionals who would be a great fit
  • Keep paragraphs short and scannable
