What to Expect After Contacting an Owner
Response times, follow-up tips, and what comes next.
After You Reach Out
You've found a space you like and contacted the owner. Here's what to expect.
Response Time
Most owners respond within 24-48 hours. Some respond much faster (within a few hours), while others may take a bit longer depending on their schedule.
If You Don't Hear Back
If it's been 48 hours and you haven't heard anything, send a polite follow-up message. Something simple like: "Hi, just following up on my inquiry about your salon space. Still very interested. Let me know if you have any availability for a tour."
Some owners are busy running their business and may have missed your initial message. A follow-up usually does the trick.
Be Professional
When reaching out to owners, treat it like a professional interaction. Include:
- Your name and what you do (hairstylist, esthetician, nail tech, etc.)
- How long you've been in the industry
- What you're looking for (space type, move-in timeframe, budget)
- Your availability for a tour
Contact Multiple Owners
There's nothing wrong with reaching out to several owners at the same time. In fact, it's a smart approach. You'll be able to compare spaces, pricing, and vibes before making a decision. Just be upfront if an owner asks about your timeline.
What Comes Next
After connecting with an owner, the typical next steps are:
- Tour the space (in person or video)
- Ask your remaining questions
- Discuss lease terms and move-in details
- Sign an agreement directly with the owner
Salon Renter connects you with the owner. From there, the rental arrangement is between the two of you.
